Device Mounting Configuration This allows the user to customize which orientation they use their device.  This is useful if you want to mount the device at a different angle and take measurements.  Otherwise the app can be used in portrait or landscape orientation directly from the phone.

It is important to test these settings before using the app.  You can do this from the New Capture screen.  It will allow you to calibrate and will also show the current Elevation and Direction.  This is what you need to pay attention to and make sure your settings are correct for the orientation of the device.
